What Pakto can do
Cryptographic protection for your agreements. No paper, and privacy by design — your data is processed on your device first. A look under the hood: how Pakto's technology works and where its legal boundaries lie.
Security and cryptography
ECDSA P-256 in Secure Enclave
Hardware levelThe signature is generated by the device's hardware chip. The private key never leaves the device and cannot be extracted via software.
SHA-256 hashing
SHA-256The document, attached photos, and phone number are hashed using SHA-256. Any modification after signing is detected upon verification.
Long-term validation
PAdES-LTVThe signed PDF complies with the PAdES-LTV standard for long-term validation. The signature remains verifiable even after certificates expire.
Identity verification
Telegram verification
Phone numberParties confirm their identity via Telegram. The full number is used once: only an irreversible cryptographic hash is embedded in the contract.
RFC 3161 timestamp
RFC 3161The signing time is recorded by an independent TSA server. The algorithm makes it impossible to backdate the contract.
Email verification
EmailAs an alternative or in addition to Telegram, a party can confirm an email address via a one-time code. The address is embedded in the contract as an identifier.
Convenience
Contract templates
12+ templatesReady-made templates: real estate rental, service provision, NDA, sale and purchase, loan, contracting. Available in multiple languages.
Online and offline
No internet requiredSign via a link or scanning a QR code nearby. Offline mode synchronizes upon the next connection.
Photos in the contract
Built-in photosDocument the condition of property with photos right while making the deal. Digital images are hashed and become an integral part of the cryptographic signature.
On-device first
On-deviceYour signing key and the document are handled on your phone. In offline mode the contract never reaches our servers; in online mode it is only relayed to the other party temporarily. We keep no long-term archive of your contracts.
Corporate branding (Pakto × Your Company)
For businessTeams can activate a corporate subscription: unlimited contracts and evidence records, plus the app header changes from "Pakto" to "Pakto × [Company name]". Activated by a company code with a control word.
Legal context
EU eIDAS Art. 26 compliance
AES / eIDASPakto implements the Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) according to eIDAS requirements. The signature can be accepted by courts for civil law agreements.
Audit trail
Event logActions with the document—creation, opening, signing—are recorded in an immutable log inside the PDF. This can be used as evidentiary base.
What Pakto is not suitable for
Pakto's technology provides an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES). It is ideal for most B2B and B2C contracts. However, the law clearly defines exceptions where a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) or the physical presence of a notary is required.
Notarized agreements
Real estate sale contracts, deeds of gift, powers of attorney require a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) or a notary. Pakto is not suitable for this.
Registration of property and rights
Any actions with state registers (real estate, cars, business) require a QES from an accredited provider. State registers will not accept a Pakto signature.
Employment contracts with state agencies
Some government bodies and budget institutions have their own requirements for the signature format. Please check separately.
Wills and marriage contracts
These documents require mandatory notarization regardless of the form of signature.
International agreements outside the EU
In countries that do not recognize eIDAS, the status of the signature depends on local legislation. Pakto does not provide legal advice for such cases.
If you are unsure whether Pakto is suitable for your case, consult a lawyer. We do not provide legal advice.
